The American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago (AMCHAM T&T) is delighted to announce the provision of two (2) IdeaHub Screens, through our member PPGPL, to support the implementation of the Fire Service's National Incident Command System (NICS). The presentation was made at the Opening Ceremony of AMCHAM T&T's 26th Annual HSSE Conference & Expedition on November 1st and presented to The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS).

At AMCHAM T&T, we ensure that our work and advocacy measures on various issues result in providing much-needed assistance to our communities and promoting development within the wider society. Through our relationships with our membership and commitment to spreading HSSE awareness both within the private and public sectors, AMCHAM T&T was able to secure support for the screens from our members at Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL).

"Some time ago, the T&T Fire Service asked us for support for their NICS. Given our focus on increasing digitalization and promoting HSSE best practices in T&T, we are delighted that our relationships with our members resulted in the provision of support for this special request by the TTFS," said Nirad Tewarie, CEO of AMCHAM T&T. "Therefore, we would like to extend our gratitude to PPGPL who immediately responded to this request through the provision of the two (2) IdeaHub Smart Screens which will support the implementation of the Fire Service's National Incident Command System (NICS) by assisting the TTFS in firefighting operations through the projection of real-time, high-quality video."

Dominic Rampersad, President of PPGPL who made the presentation to Mr Arnold Bristo - Chief Fire Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Services (TTFS) said the donation is not just from the employees of PPGPL but from the people of Trinidad and Tobago who are the owners of the company. "As we reimagine our world, we also have to reimagine not just our companies but the role that our companies play in providing a service to our communities - and digitization doesn't stop at the fenceline of our companies," Rampersad said.

"As employees of PPGPL who all live in Trinidad and Tobago, we do recognize the service that we need to provide to our protective services. Therefore, this is a donation from the people of Trinidad and Tobago to the Fire Services of Trinidad and Tobago in the provision of their service in providing a safe community for us all. So, this is not a donation, it is an honor for us all to do this because it is part of our service to the community."

Meanwhile, Chief Fire Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Services (TTFS), Arnold Bristo thanked AMCHAM T&T and PPGPL for the donation and asked companies to continue their commitment to improving health and safety in Trinidad and Tobago. "Health and safety is everybody's business," Bristo said.

"Sometimes companies spend quite a lot of investment into bringing their companies online and pay very little attention to the investment that they would have made and how to protect it,” Bristo added. “I honestly believe that it's time that we as a society pay more attention because it will reduce the risk of exposure to the losses that we see when companies grow up as well as the loss of employment and how it affects the economy. So, I want to applaud you for this initiative. I want to encourage you to continue to press hard towards making it a reality.”

AMCHAM T&T would like to thank PPGPL for helping to facilitate the request from the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service and we look forward to working both with and on behalf of our members to continue providing support to our communities and the wider society of Trinidad and Tobago.

END.
